For the project's second educational contest, we asked people to submit creative writing samples - either traditional stories they had heard from relatives, or original creative works. Seventy entries were submitted, with educational and utilitarian prizes (books, posters, pens, pencils, jerry cans, mosquito nets) awarded to the top 15 entires.

John Irumba, a young poet, reads his winning poem about trees to the crowd.

The crowd begins to appear as the Kyanyawara Conservation Club opens the event with a song and dance.

Musana Moses receives his prizes for an interesting piece describing the history of Kibale.
