Gullible (Montreal) writes,

"You are planning a trip to Indonesia for wildlife conservation work
and you try to save money on flights because your cause is important
and you don't want to waste resources. So you check out
WayWayCheapoTickets.com or whatever they're called and get a
way way cheapo price. I mean WAY cheap. Like half price. And you're
on their website and it asks you for some info but you don't click
on the final ACCEPT button because something just doesn't feel right,
and you put that website on hold and do a search on fraud, and suddenly
you're inundated by websites warning the public about this company,
and you break out in a cold sweat.

"You return to the cheapo website and try to uncheck the I READ ALL
THIS STUFF checkbox but the website won't let you! And you do more
research and now you're really scared. You kill the webpage, without
having clicked on the ACCEPT button and now you're relieved, because
you're pretty sure by now this is some kind of sophisticated scam.
And you remind yourself how important this trip is. And you replay in
your mind the reported scam: that people purchased such tickets and
then they show up at the airport and the ticket somehow gets cancelled
at the last minute and then they're screwed. Thankfully, that's not
going to happen to you. You figured it out in time-just in time.
        Good job, you tell yourself.

"Then the email arrives. Congratulation, it says, for purchasing an
        e-ticket from WayWayCheapoTickets.com......."

This--and other stories--will be told this Wednesday night, December 2nd,
at the DC Traveler's Circle (tc). tc meets 6:30-10pm (show up/leave whenever),
at the Kabab House at 1108 K Street, NW, between 11th and 12th, 3 blocks north
of Metro Center. This month's tc will be run by Mark and a cast of colorful
characters--including hopefully you!

vEcotourism, which is being pioneered at Chimp-n-Sea, has strong potential to help protect people and wildlife in remote areas on a vast scale. We're making progress with both the vEco technology and with in-country (Uganda, to start with) infrastructure. We're starting to provide vEcotours, free, to the public, each week. But to make the dream of protecting wildlife a reality, we need your support. Sending money would help. We're looking to build a dedicated team of creative, hard-working, fun-loving volunteers. We're looking for people who can host a tour. We're looking for people who can help design and create tour content. We're looking for web developers with some knowledge of scripts and/or java. We're looking for GIS/map programmers and sound engineers. We're looking for folks to help with fund-raising. We're looking for accountants who know Quickbooks and who know something about non-profits. We could use all sorts of help but please don't apply unless you are serious about helping on an ongoing basis. We're looking for self-motivated volunteers who, on their own volition, follow through and get things done. Help us refine vEco1.0 into a rich, imaginative, educational experience. Thanks! I hope to hear from you soon. -Mark, mark@chimp-n-sea.org

After spending some time practicing the design, church members then built a new stove for the church, which will serve to demonstrate the idea for visitors.
